Description

 
An ADSS (All-Dielectric Self-Supporting) cable is eliminating the need for a separate messenger wire or support cable. Because it contains no metallic components, it is entirely non-conductive, making it safe to install in the high-voltage environments of power lines. Its self-supporting design and durable construction allow for long spans between poles and provide stable performance over a wide range of temperatures

Features

All-Dielectric:
Composed entirely of non-metallic, insulating materials, which prevents electrical current from passing through the cable and makes it safe for use near high-voltage lines.
Self-Supporting:
The cable's internal structure provides sufficient mechanical strength to support its own weight and external loads, removing the need for a separate metallic support wire.
Water-Blocking:
Loose tubes within the cable are filled with a water-blocking gel to protect the optical fibers from moisture and ensure stable performance.
SZ Stranding:
The fiber optic tubes are reverse-oscillated (or SZ-stranded) within the cable, which provides slack for easier mid-span access and protects the fibers from installation stresses and environmental conditions.
High Strength:
ADSS cables incorporate reinforcing elements, such as Aramid yarn, to provide the high mechanical strength required for long spans and demanding aerial applications.
Track-Resistant Jacket:
For installation in electric fields, a specialized track-resistant polyethylene (TRPE) outer jacket is available to prevent erosion and dry-band arcing damage.
